Summer Days 2015

Well, the end of summer vacation is nearing for me...It's been a really good one. Probably the best since having kids.  Summer school, softball, t-ball, vacation, swimming lessons, trying to train a new puppy, lots and lots of swimming.  They've kept pretty busy and there hasn't been a lot of TV time.  I asked Happy Feet the other day if she was ready for school to start and she said she was.  It's been awesome, but I think we are nearing the time for routine.  Here's what life's been like here lately:

This little fella has been keeping me company.
He's never too far away. He can usually be found on an air conditioning vent.

He's always chewing something up.

I picked this bouquet the other day out of flowers my husband planted for me,
just because he knows I love fresh flowers.

Red Shoes loves playing in the water below our house.
He's on his knees here. It's not really that deep.

Trying to eat healthy.  The next day wasn't good at all.
Going to do a round of the 21 Day Fix. Again.
We celebrated Grandpa's 80th birthday with a fun party.

 Such a poser.
Peaches from our 2 year old peach tree.

Lots of joy riding
 So much swimming this summer.

One of those mornings...written by the not so happy, Happy Feet.

Last Night, Summer 2014

Last night was one of those nights that summer is all about.  Swoosh and I made Zucchini Brownies.  You can find the recipe HERE. It's the BEST recipe...really weird though.  If you make them you will swear that they are not going to turn out.  When you put them in the oven it's the consistency of powder, not a normal batter.  I guess there's enough moisture in the zucchini that it all works out.  This is before we put the brownies in the oven.  Swoosh was pretty proud.

Red Shoes got lessons in mowing the yard from his dad last night.  This is why kids have moms and dad's right?  I get worried over this kind of stuff.  We do a good job balancing each other out.  Red Shoes was beyond overjoyed.
This girl is loves the water.  This is the best money we've spent this summer.  This pool has given our kids (and us) hours and hours of fun.

Our dog Layla....she's been with us coming up on a year now.  We couldn't have asked for a better dog.  She's fun and never ever mean with the kids.  She's been a nice addition to our family.
Our cat had kittens this summer.  We've had a lot of fun watching her care for her babies and watching her kittens grow.

This is the view from our backyard this summer.  What a good crop growing year! Pin It

Summer Fun 2013

Last weekend we visited my mom and dad and sister in Nebraska.  We had fun swimming and celebrating my nephews 5th birthday.  My how the time goes so quickly!  Hard to believe he's already 5.
