Why Red Shoes you ask? Well, for our family red shoes represent a great deal. When I bought a pair of red Crocs at a garage sale one summer I had no idea what an impact they would have. I bought them for our 2 year old son whom I will refer to as "Red Shoes". This was the first pair of shoes that Red Shoes could put on by himself. With that, came the liklihood of going outside, running through mud puddles, or going on a 4-wheeler ride with his dad. This was our son's first time to truly experience the joys summer has to offer.
Soon our son became very passionate about his shoes. They had to be on ALL of the time. I would force them off of him when he would sleep but that was about it. It was common to see Red Shoes wearing the crocs over his cute little footie pajamas.
I should also mention that soon we found Red Shoes' sister her very own pair of red shoes. Soon, her brothers enthusiasm for life & his shoes trickled down. With her brothers help, she too needed (in his opinion) to have her

So, with that zest for the shoes came some athletes foot. So it is with life I guess...you learn to take the bad with the good. And so this is my hope for this blog...that we will take time to appreciate lifes simple treasures...like a second hand pair of red shoes. Life is full of things to celebrate if you just take a little time to find them. Our family delights in God, the grandeur of America, the people we love, birthday cakes, gardens, overcoming lifes adversity and the changing seasons...just to name a few. Even during the tough times if you seach hard enough you will find something...
